In honor of Rachel Carson’s work, the Common Ground Country Fair hosted a forum discussion and teach-in titled, Where Have All the Bees Gone? A panel of two beekeepers – Theresa Gaffney of Highland Blueberry Farm in Stockton Springs, Maine, and David Hackenberg of Hackenberg Apiaries in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania – and two scientists – Dr. Frank Drummond of the University of Maine and Dr. Kimberly Stoner of the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station –  discussed the importance of pollinators and explore possible explanations for the Colony Collapse Disorder mystery.

This took place on Saturday September 22, 2012 10:30am - 12:00pm @ Spotlight Stage at the Common Ground Fair in Unity, Maine.  2012 represented the 50th anniversary since the publication of Rachel Carson’s A Silent Spring.
