Greetings!  Spring Classes for 2015 are over. 

We want you to know though, that our Weekend Intensive Class can travel TO YOUR TOWN!  We are currently booking classes for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016.

Open Hive

  Class Series  


The Gold Star Open Hive class series is a hands on learning experience like no other.

Join author, entrepreneur and beekeeper, Christy Hemenway as she takes you through a full season of keeping bees naturally in top bar hives.

You will have the benefit of Christy's knowledge and experience as you:
  • learn step-by-step how to keep bees naturally in top bar hives
  • work with the hives in the Gold Star bee yard- with live bees
  • three different styles of top bar hives
  • find the best ways to spot your queen
  • experience the thrill of seeing eggs and larva
  • follow the progression of the hive through the season
  • see first hand how to do the "mid-season shift"
  • learn how to close your hive for winter
  • AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!

Beginning on June 6th and continuing through early October, the Open Hive Class series consists of 9 individual hive-side classes and will be held at Gold Star Honeybees Global Headquarters, located at 96 Sheldon Street in Farmingdale, Maine.

All classes will be held at 11:00 am and the dates are:

The cost for the series is $100/person (+1 guest per class for free)
 
The cost for a single class is $20/person (+ 1 guest for free)
