Oxalic Acid can be a very effective treatment for varroa mites, provided there is no capped brood inside the hive at the time of treatment.
Our Queen Jail allows you to easily capture and cage your queen for the 14 days it will take for your hive to become broodless. When there is no capped brood in the hive, all the varroa will be exposed to the oxalic acid treatment, and the efficacy of the treatment will be over 90%.
Oxalic acid is an organic acid, and because it is so highly effective, and because it is not lipophilic (and so is not absorbed into your bees' clean natural wax comb) this is one of the better ways available for dealing with varroa in your Gold Star top bar hive.
