This kit is the Gold Star antidote to the "Big Box Store" syndrome so common throughout the suburban US. It includes all of the hardware you need to construct one Gold Star Deluxe Top Bar Hive, along with one copy of the DIY Plans to build that same Gold Star hive.
This will keep you from having to purchase a 30-foot roll of hardware cloth when you only need 48".
Or from buying 100 nuts or bolts or screws when you only need 10 or 20 or 50 of same.
Just our way of saying "We get it."
Hardware included:
- Bolts, washers, T-nuts, and wing nuts for legs
- Thumb knobs, offset clips, and screws for window shutter
- Angle brackets and screws for bottom board
- Screws for the roof and hive body
- Corks
- Pushpins
- 48" of 8-to-the-inch hardware cloth
Builder must supply all of the wood, the glass for the observation window, the caulk to install the window, paint if desired, and the woodworking tools and skill to cut and construct the entire project.

Not as hard as you may think!
This was my sister’s very first woodworking project. We were both initially intimidated but the instructions are well done and there is support on the other end of an email if you get nervous. It went so well she just made a second one. And my bees are very happy in their beautiful new home.
